With the “Revelation” award for Grey Merlot 2016 and 95+ points for 7 wines, Viña Ventisquero consolidates its position in Descorchados 2019December, 11 2018

Viña Ventisquero’s wines have again earned excellent results in the 2019 Descorchados wine guide, demonstrating the consistent quality of its different lines of wines, as well as the continuous improvement in their scores.

There were outstanding scores of 96 points each for 2 of our wines: Ventisquero Enclave 2015, that was also listed among the Best Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile and the Best of Maipo Alto, and Ventisquero Tara White Wine 1 2017, our Chardonnay from the Atacama Valley that was doubly recognized among the Best White Wines and the Best Chardonnays from the whole of Chile.

Our Ventisquero Pangea Syrah 2015, together with 4 other Ventisquero wines were listed among the “Best from the Apalta Valley”, including Vértice 2015, Grey GCM 2018, Grey Merlot 2018, and Ramirana La Roblería Vineyard 2016. This is very important for us, because it honours the fact that this year Apalta Valley was finally recognized as a Denomination of Origin. We are proud of this DO status because we are convinced of the great potential of this part of the Colchagua Valley, which has also been recognized worldwide as one of Chile’s viticultural treasures.

Ventisquero Grey Merlot 2016, in addition to being one of the best from Apalta, received the “Revelation” award and is ranked among the Best Merlots. Another brand that was recognized was Tara, particularly Tara White Wine 1 Chardonnay 2017. Descorchados 2019 highlighted the strong performance of Sauvignon Blanc with Kalfu Sumpai 2018, Ventisquero Grey 2018, and Ramirana Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc / Gewurztraminer 2018 all listed among the Best White Wines of Chile.

The Ventisquero Queulat Gran Reserva lines were also recognized with their wines receiving scores between 91 and 92 points, as well as the Kalfu and Ramirana brands, all scoring more than 90 points and being ranked in different parts of the guide.
