In order to become known internationally as Chile's premium wine valley, the 8 vineyards present in the San Antonio Valley joined together to create the "San Antonio Valley Vineyard Association".
Currently this valley covers 500 hectares where eight vineyards have their vineyards, including Viña Ventisquero with its Las Terrazas de Leyda vineyard. The wines of San Antonio are characterized by the influence of cold weather, the proximity to the sea, the soils with a particular minerality, those that have been by the maritime means, and a lower thermal oscillation (contrary to what happens in Casablanca).
The wineries produce a total of 100 million boxes of wines from this valley. Strains planted are coastal varieties and cold weather such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Syrah. In addition, all the wines of this valley are certified as organic.
